How to choose a wristband supplier in India

Ask every supplier the same six things: material and grammage, width and closure, the price per band at your quantity with GST shown separately, dispatch time after proof approval, delivery to your city, and whether a sample comes first. Compare the answers like for like, and test a sample on your own staff before ordering thousands.
Manufacturer, printer or trader
- A converter makes blank bands from rolls of material: cuts them, adds the adhesive and the slits.
- A printer prints names, numbers and codes on blank bands.
- A trader resells bands made and printed by someone else.
Many companies do two of the three. What matters to you is less the label than the answers below, and whether the company that invoices you is the one that answers for a misprint. Paper Bands prints in-house in Pune; the blank bands are supplied to us.
Six questions, and good answers

Warning signs in a quote
- A price with no specification. Cheap per band, but for what band?
- "Tyvek" with nothing in writing. Ask for the material sheet.
- No GST invoice. A business buyer loses input credit, and has nobody accountable.
- A listed price that changes on the call. Marketplace prices are starting points; get the final figure in writing.
- No proof before printing. Mistakes are found at the door.

Questions
Who are the wristband manufacturers in India?
Many suppliers list on marketplaces such as IndiaMART, from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and other cities. Compare them with the six questions above rather than by city.
Should I buy from the cheapest listing?
Compare the full quote, not the listing: material, print, numbering, GST and delivery. A low listed price can rise once those are added.
